Global Village Records today announced the success of Adrienne Lau’s single “Wanna Be Happy,” debuting at number 16 on the U.S. Hot Singles Sales chart of Billboard Magazine.
Lau’s success is undeniable. The Hong Kong native’s Billboard charting will be featured in the upcoming July 22 issue. The jury is in on the Asian-American pop star that has become a phenomenon on Myspace.com with over one million fans. The verdict is a resounding yes.
“Wanna Be Happy” does exactly what the title promises. It is appropriate in today’s troubled times. Ask anyone what they want most in life and “Wanna Be Happy” will be one of the top answers.
As a trailblazer, Adrienne is the first Asian-American pop star to chart on billboard in recent times. Lau is poised for bigger and better things as the airwaves embrace not only her hot single, but also other chart busting singles from her self-titled album.
Through collaborating with familiar artists such as Petey Pablo, plus contributing writers and producers that have worked with the likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Lau’s music will find a home in American pop culture.
