PHOTO AVAILABLE: Singular Science Fiction With Sock-puppets, Raveled Wins Accolade Competition

Aberle Films has received an Honorable Mention from the Accolade Competition, given for the feature film presentation of Raveled: The Movie - Volume 1, an ambitious science fiction comedy performed entirely with sock puppets.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BATTLE GROUND, WA / PR FREE / Sep 24 2007 --
Aberle Films has received an Honorable Mention from the Accolade Competition, given for the feature film presentation of Raveled: The Movie - Volume 1, an ambitious science fiction comedy performed entirely with sock puppets. The award was presented as an example of excellence in originality and creativity.

Director and writer Doug Aberle was pleased. "This is an unexpected treat. 'Raveled' is a daring film for a comedy, breaking pre-conceived notions of what a feature film should be. We treat our puppets as characters, as though they were performing in a normal, human-based screenplay."

Raveled: The Movie - Volume 1 is the story of Harold and Streek, two dissimilar misfits who are mysteriously ripped out of the present and flung 600 years into the future, where they land on an alien spaceship preparing to destroy the Earth. Aberle Films again breaks conventional wisdom by ending this first film in an old-fashioned cliff-hanger. "If you liked Volume 1," Aberle says, "you won't believe Volume 2."

The Accolade judges loved Raveled. Comments included, "Very funny ... Such an off-beat take on life ... I really liked the use of puppets rather than the more common reliance on computer animation to create characters. This gives more warmth and likability to the characters ... Raveled has original dialogue and humor ... The producers were crafty in using music and sounds to support the storyline and mood of the film ... This production stands-out as clever entertainment, and is educational for young people." (Thomas Baker, Ph.D., Competition Chairperson)

The Accolade recognizes film, television and video professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Information about the Accolade and a list of recent winners can be found at 'http://www.theaccolade.net'.
Aberle Films is currently pursuing distribution. Volume 2 is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2008.
