FREDERICKSBURG, Ala. / PR FREE / Mar 25 2012 --
Moms of Fredericksburg, the online relocation resource site for new and existing families in the greater Fredericksburg, Virginia area, provides moms and families one concise source of information on where to go and what to do. The MomsOfFredericksburg.com website has attracted thousands of moms, dozens of advertisers, and just below 2000 Facebook fans in its inaugural year. The website, created and managed by Dina Young, local Fredericksburg mom and entrepreneur, began as a free resource to make relocation transitions easier and smoother by offering:

- Information to help families relocate to Fredericksburg
- Recommendations for services to help complete family relocation to the area
- Information to assist families with important family decisions
- Support from local organizations catering to moms
- Connections with mothers living in Fredericksburg
- Activities and events, directories, community information, local businesses and more that a mom living in Fredericksburg would be interested in knowing

The website now gears this free resource to new and existing moms in Fredericksburg, as well as providing advertising opportunities for locally owned businesses. The one-year anniversary also launches a new Mom’s Market, a free classified section for local moms to browse, buy, sell, find a job, hire a sitter and more. Moms of Fredericksburg’s mission with the Mom’s Market is to provide mothers with a safe alternative to classified sites such as Craigslist.

In addition to the website, Moms of Fredericksburg is also very active in giving back to the community:

- Spearheading efforts to make all playgrounds in Fredericksburg smoke free (Moms of Fredericksburg Petition for Smoke-Free Playgrounds)
- Raising money for children with cancer by holding a “Cookies for Kids’ Cancer” bake sale
- Participating in the Historic Half Marathon by running and with a “Moms to the Rescue Stop” for thousands of runners providing bandaids, Starbucks coffee and other last minute race essentials
- Dozens of blog articles to raise awareness of local issues
